Myofascial Release is a strong yet gentle form of Deep Tissue Massage which focuses on breaking up adhesions, scar tissue, and inappropriate bindings within the body. When done properly it is rarely painful, although a burning sensation may accompany certain moves. You may be asked to engage in active movements such as pointing your toes or spreading your fingers to assist with the process, and your therapist may stretch parts of your body (such as your shoulders) while applying pressure nearby to help break apart stuck fascia.
